A short distance from the cottage are two superb restaurants and a pub, all serving high quality food at reasonable prices. Lancaster University is only 5 miles away making it very accessible for parents visiting students. It is also convenient for academics visiting from around the UK and abroad.

The cottage is situated on the main cycle route from Lands End to John O Groats.

Narrow boats can be hired on the Lancaster Canal or take a leisurely sail on a guided tour, enjoy the market town of Garstang with its weekly market (Thursday), explore the beautiful Forest of Bowland and Lune Valley. Visit the picturesque towns of Settle, Kirby Lonsdale, Ingleton Falls and the railway station of Carnforth - the location of the 1945 film ‘Brief Encounters’.

We are situated 2.8 miles south of M6 Junction 33 or 11 miles north of M6 Junction 32. Just off the A6, we are midway between the new Holly Inn (north) & Quattro’s (original name Old Holly) (south).
